I promised my wrists a detox, then Jean Paul Gaultier dropped two new apple-from-Eden teasers. Meet Le Beau Narcisse and La Belle Rosea, fresh branches on the now-mighty Le Beau and La Belle family tree. Yes, they are flankers to flankers. And yes, if any brand understands how to keep a torso interesting, it’s JPG.

Let’s place them in the lineage, because context matters:

  • Le Beau arrived in 2019 as a sultry, coconut-wood charmer, spun off the eternal Le Mâle from 1995.
  • La Belle also debuted in 2019 with that pear-vanilla halo that took no prisoners, sprung from Classique of 1993.
  • Last year’s limited pretties were the Flower Edition bottles, all Eden and ornament, easy on the eyes, less about shaking up the formula.

Now we get names with real direction. Le Beau Narcisse suggests narcissus, a note perfumistas know can bite as much as it blooms. Think green-yellow facets, hay and pollen, a touch of self-adoring shadow. If JPG keeps the tropical-woody spine of Le Beau and cuts it with narcissus, this could move the line from beach club to twilight garden. Less smoothie, more cheekbone.

La Belle Rosea telegraphs rose, but in JPG language that rarely means grandma’s compact. I’m guessing a dewy, edible-tinged rose dialed into that signature vanilla glow from La Belle. Rose plus pear makes sense, rose plus creamy woods does too. If they turn up a fresh-pink tone, it could be spring-perfect without losing the body the range is known for.

A few quick takes from someone who wears these bottles unapologetically:

  • Expect projection that announces itself, not a shy skin scent. This house loves a sillage moment.
  • If you found La Belle too syrupy, La Belle Rosea might be your lighter hand, especially for daytime.
  • If Le Beau felt a touch linear, Le Beau Narcisse could be the textured twist the line needed.

The JPG garden keeps seducing, even while it multiplies. I roll my eyes at flanker math, then I spray and remember why these sell. If you live for florals with a body, keep an eye on Le Beau Narcisse and La Belle Rosea. If the names deliver, the Eden story just grew sharper petals.
