If your fragrance needs a spreadsheet, you picked the wrong Friday. Today is about letting the spine uncoil and the thoughts unclench. I’m marking the Day of the Dude the way I did back in 2020, with Comme des Garçons Ouarzazate, the most easygoing charmer in the Incense Series. It’s a veil, not a cape, an incense that prefers a hammock to a pulpit.
On skin, Ouarzazate is sun-bleached and pepper-dusted, the air in a quiet courtyard at 4 p.m. It softens the edges of frankincense with a dry, tea-like hush, a little nutmeg sparkle, and pale woods that never splinter. No temple theatrics, no smoky drama, just that serene, shimmering distance you get when heat blurs the horizon. It smells like permission to be unproductive.
If you want to stay in the incense lane but keep the BPM low, the family offers choices with distinct personalities:
Not an incense person on a take-it-easy day? There are other ways to coast:
I’m letting Ouarzazate do the talking, which is to say, almost none at all. It makes space for good coffee, a redeemed inbox, and a promise to stop mid-scroll and breathe. The Dude abides, and so does my wrist, quietly radiant, not trying to prove anything. If the world insists on being loud, at least my perfume knows how to whisper back.
