If you still think raspberry equals tween body mist, you haven’t smelled what’s quietly taking over 2026. In my testing this month, the note felt less pink syrup and more satin ribbon, a smart little contrast that perks up florals, grounds gourmands, and even polishes woods. Caroline Sabas at Givaudan has been making the case that raspberry’s sweet tart tension is exactly what consumers want now. On skin, I get it. The note hits like a flash of light, then settles into texture.

How the new raspberry is playing out:

  • YSL Mon Paris: A glossy raspberry over white musks and patchouli that reads modern and effervescent, not sticky. It is a city-light sparkle, a clean shirt with a kiss of fruit.
  • Mugler Angel Nova: The Angel DNA gets a shock of neon raspberry with lychee, then melts into a weightless rose. Jammy at first sniff, polished by the drydown.
  • Lancôme La Nuit Trésor: Raspberry drizzled over praline and incense, a night-blooming fruit that turns darker and silkier the longer it lingers.
  • Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire: The red-berry accord, including raspberry facets, sharpens almond and smoky tea. It is playful yet grown, a lipstick glide rather than a lollipop.
  • Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady: A pinpoint of raspberry threads through the rose and patchouli, adding a tart gleam that keeps the whole thing alive and mercilessly chic.
  • Parfums de Marly Oriana: Marshmallow clouds punctured by a tart raspberry pop. It is confection with a spine, airy but not naive.

What has changed is the scaffolding. Raspberry is being paired with sheer musks, airy woods, and mineral florals instead of vanilla overload. Pink pepper, ambrette, and tea notes sharpen the edges. The fruit becomes a texture you can almost feel, a silk taffeta rustle rather than a sugar rush.

My take as a wearer and a skeptic of fruit notes for years, raspberry is the one that grew up. Watch for it to move from decorative accent to headline material. When done right, it makes rose feel luminous, patchouli feel tailored, and gourmands feel like good tailoring instead of dessert. That is not marketing, that is my wrist talking.
