Back to Home
I sprayed Molecule 01 + Cistus on a white tee at 8 a.m., ran errands, and by noon two strangers leaned in to ask what smelled so clean and mysterious. Not loud, not sweet, just a bright, musky incense cloud that hovered like good lighting.
This is Geza Schoen doing what he does best with Escentric Molecules. Molecule 01 gives that weightless, skin-like shimmer, then cistus steps in with resin, mineral warmth, and a hint of leathery sun-baked rock. It’s incense without smoke, amber without syrup, intimacy without effort.
On my skin the opening feels almost sparkling, like cedar dust and citrus peel, then it smooths into a translucent resin veil. There’s a tea-like dryness, a soft musk halo, and a gentle ambered thrum that never turns sticky. If you want church incense or caramel amber, look elsewhere. This is the clean shirt after a night out, the cool side of the pillow with a secret.
Performance surprised me. Projection stays in a soft two to three foot aura, yet the trail wakes up when you move. I got 7 hours on skin, 10 on knitwear. On hot days it blooms into that airy incense cloud. On cold days it feels like a warm neck against cashmere.
A few quick notes for the curious:
If you love the stripped-back style of Molecule 01 but want a little heat, Molecule 01 + Cistus nails the balance. It’s cleaner than most ambers, more sensual than most “fresh” scents, and absolutely wearable when you want to smell like yourself, only better.
I’m keeping a travel spray in my tote. Clean is easy. Clean with a pulse is rare, and Molecule 01 + Cistus has it.
