If fuchsia were a person, she’d cut the line, wink at the bouncer, and somehow make you thank her for it. That’s exactly the energy ÉLISIRE is bottling with In Fabula by Bérénice Watteau, a 2025 release built on the daring idea that color can be smelled as cleanly as it can be seen. No textbook pyramid. No safe beige. Just a saturated flash that aims for sensation first and explanation later.
Here’s what I love about this approach. When a perfume chases a color, it has to choose attitude over architecture. Fuchsia isn’t polite. It’s a kiss you feel before you understand it. In Fabula leans into that instant emotional spark. Think glossy textures, kinetic brightness, and a velvety afterglow that clings the way lipstick stains do on a champagne flute. I’m not listing notes on purpose. This reads like a mood board in motion, not a lab report.
And Bérénice Watteau is a fitting hand on the tiller. Her work tends to chase sensation with clarity, trimming away noise so a single idea can hum. With In Fabula, the hum is turned up to neon. The name itself - “In Fabula” - suggests a story told in fragments. You catch a flash of something tart, then a plush heart that refuses to wilt, then a low, plush thrum that skirts sweetness and lands on pulse. It feels cinematic, like color grading for the nose.
There’s a playful coda too. A Fuchsia Dreams flourish circles this launch, nudging the idea that wearability doesn’t have to mean invisibility. Fuchsia can be elegant without being quiet. In a sea of moody gourmands and sanitized musks, In Fabula feels like a dare to feel something bright again.
Is it for everyone? Probably not. But that’s the point. The best color-driven perfumes serve a specific hunger. If your wardrobe needs a jolt more than a hug, this is the bottle you reach for when you want to be seen before you say a word.
File this under: high-voltage florals with a synesthetic backbone. ÉLISIRE is betting that fuchsia can be a feeling you wear. I’m inclined to agree.
